The Diploma
Successful graduates receive the diploma of a Medical Doctor (M.D.), entitling them to enter the medical profession. As recognition of its high level, our medical training was accredited by several foreign countries, including the United States. Our former students pass state examinations of various countries, including USMLE, with well above the average results.
Dentistry students acquire a D.M.D. degree.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings table for clinical, pre-clinical and health subjects ranks the University of Pécs Medical School between 301-400th place in 2018, awarding the UP MS the 2nd highest ranking among the universities in Hungary.

The diploma issued by the University of Pécs, Medical School makes the doctors eligible to register as a doctor in the UK. Non-EU nationality graduates of any medical school in Europe including Hungary will be required to sit for the licensing exams of the UK, the PLAB exams to be registered with General Medical Council. EU nationals who graduate from EU member states medical schools can register directly with the GMC without the PLAB exams. In the United States the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and its organizational members define an international medical graduate as a physician who received his/her basic medical degree or qualification from a medical school located outside the United States and Canada. To be eligible for ECFMG Certification, the physician’s medical school and graduation year must be listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). International medical graduates must meet some examination and medical education credential requirements to receieve an ECFMG Certification (http://www.ecfmg.org/index.html).
The "Pecs University Medical School" English Program (6-year English program) and the University of Pecs Faculty of Medicine is recognized by the Medical Board of California (http://www.medbd.ca.gov/Applicant_Schools_Recognized.htm#H).
An International Medical Graduate is eligible for the Medical Council of Canada examinations, if she/he has a medical diploma issued by a university (listed in the International Medical Education Directory) outside of Canada or the United States. One of the eligibility criteria for the Qualifying Examination Part I. is a valid pass standing on the MCC Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) (http://www.mcc.ca/english/news/index.html) (http://imed.ecfmg.org/).
